Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer (Full Time, Unarmed Patrol) in San Jose, CA. You will protect clients across commercial real estate, patrol interiors and perimeters, and provide exceptional customer service to tenants and visitors.

Requirements include 3 years of law enforcement, corrections, or military experience or 5 years armed security, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Driving positions require a valid license.

Qualifications

• 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5 years armed security experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen are required.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management staff while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interiors, exteriors, parking, access points, and perimeters.
• Monitor property access, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and document activity and incidents.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel.
• Communicate observations and maintenance concerns to leadership and site representatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Communicate observations, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
