Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX, is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Awareness to safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and other locations. You will perform routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service to visitors and tenants.

Responsibilities include calmly handling incidents, reporting hazards, supporting access control, and upholding policies while presenting a professional image to the public and staff.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen will be conducted as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report unusual activity, property concerns, access issues, and potential hazards to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and enforcement of property rules while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
