Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Officer for a Full Time Unarmed Patrol in Allentown, PA. You will monitor campuses, deter security incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service.

You will patrol assigned areas, control access, respond to alarms, and prepare incident reports while upholding Allied Universal’s people-first culture and commitment to safety. This role requires CPR certification and a high school diploma, with shift options and benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, informing campus personnel or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction and building access procedures.
• Prepare clear incident reports and maintain activity logs per site requirements.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol in Allentown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a college campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. You will report concerns and respond to campus needs while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture, teamwork, and integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.36 / Hour

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201) Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.
• Alarm Panel Experience (B202) Candidates must demonstrate experience with alarm panel systems, including the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to alarm signals effectively.
• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204) Proficiency in using computers or tablets is essential. Candidates should be comfortable navigating software applications, managing emails, and utilizing digital communication tools.
• CPR Certification (B205) Candidates are required to hold a valid CPR certification. This certification must be current and recognized by a reputable organization.
• Customer Service Experience (B219) A background in customer service is essential. Candidates should have experience in interacting with clients or customers, resolving issues, and providing a high level of service.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, campus‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, building access procedures, and reporting of suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain activity logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience using alarm panels is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
