Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff by following site procedures and policies.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and document activities.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols within building interiors and surrounding areas, reporting unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials according to site policies; report unauthorized access.
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports and communicate with leadership and site contacts.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Badge Processing in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service. Using clear communication and computer or tablet tools, you will assist visitors and tenants while working with a team that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting activities according to site requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout building interiors, common areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and/or shift logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
