Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Security Officer for Texas Health Plano in Plano, TX. The role is full-time with rotating shifts, performing patrols, access control, escorts, and incident reporting to maintain a safe hospital environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, preferred associate degree in related fields, and security or military experience. Certifications such as NCSO, CSO Level 3, and TASER within set deadlines are required.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or related field preferred.
  • 2 years security, law enforcement, or military police preferred.
  • 2 years healthcare or education preferred.
  • 2 years military experience highly preferred.
  • Driver's License Class C and insurable.
  • NCSO within 120 days of hire.
  • CSO Texas Level 3 within 120 days of hire and TASER certification within 120 days.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas after hours.
  • Locks and opens doors according to schedules.
  • Provides escorts to and from parking areas.
  • Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.
  • Enforces campus parking policies and citations.
  • Fills out incident reports and narratives.
  • Interacts with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.

Here’s What You Need


  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate's Degree Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field preferred

  • 2 years security, law enforcement, or military police preferred

  • 2 years healthcare or education preferred

  • 2 years military experience highly preferred

  • Driver’s License Class C and Insurable is required upon hire and

  • NCSO – Non- Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (not-required if have Level 3) within 120 days of hire required.

  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas level 3 within 120 days of hire required and

  • TASER Certification within 120 days of hire required (Two attempts permitted within sixty days) and Annual recertification is required and

  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 30 days of hire

  • Must possess the ability to physically defend and/or restrain people.

  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.


What You Will Do


  • Patrols buildings and ground for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry.

  • Locks and opens doors according to schedules.

  • Provides individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.

  • Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.

  • Enforces campus parking policies/cite violations.

  • Maintains compliance with Security policies.

  • Pursues and detains persons involved in criminal activity.

  • Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives.

  • Gives directions to areas of facility.

  • Interacts with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Provides vehicle assistance.

  • Patrols interior/perimeter of campus and parking.
