Job summary

Texas Health Resources is hiring a Security Officer for a full-time rotating shift. The role involves patrolling facilities, controlling access after hours, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

  • Two years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
  • Texas Private Security Level 2 or 3 certifications may be required; ACPI training annually 30 days required.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol buildings and clinics for unlocked secured areas after hours.
  • Lock and unlock doors according to schedules.
  • Provide escorts to and from parking areas and identify unauthorized individuals on property.
  • Maintain compliance with Texas Health Police policies and report incidents.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with police, fire, and EMS as required.

Work Hours: Full Time (40 Hour) Rotating Shift
  • Must be available to work any 8- hour shift
  • Must be available any days of the week, including weekends
  • Full Time, 5-day work week
  • Rotating schedule (days, evenings, nights)

Here’s What You Need
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, or closely related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
  • Texas Private Security Level 3 is preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • DL - Drivers License (Class C and insurable) upon hire required
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 days required
  • NCSO - Non-Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (not required if have Level 3) 120 days required
  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 3 (2 attempts permitted). Biannual recertification. 120 days required
  • TASER Certification- Complete Course & Certification (2 attempts permitted). Annual recertification. 120 days required
What You Will Do
  • Patrol buildings and clinics for unlocked secured areas for after-hour entry.
  • Locks and opens doors according to schedules.
  • Provides individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
  • Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.
  • Maintains compliance with Texas Health Police policies.
  • Pursues and detains persons involved in criminal activity.
  • Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and provides the appropriate level of force for the situation
  • Responds to and activates the appropriate emergency response code
  • Interacts with and provides assistance to Police, Fire, EMS and other emergency staff as required
