• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the technology-focused facility including exterior areas and entrances.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Prepare detailed daily activity reports and communicate observations to site leadership.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Access Control in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and support access control operations. You will deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication while working with a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the technology‑focused facility, including exterior areas, parking locations, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Complete detailed daily activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security‑related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
