Job summary

Allied Universal® in Chicago, IL is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Mobile Patrol Driver to safeguard clients across campus settings. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and deliver welcoming service to students, staff, and visitors.

A valid driver’s license is required and a background check will be conducted. The schedule is Fri–Sun, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, helping to deter unauthorized access and policy violations through visible presence and professional communication.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs related to incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related concerns.
