Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to protect people and property across our Newark, CA locations. This Full Time position offers a competitive hourly pay rate and a structured night shift schedule, with opportunities for advancement in a dynamic, service‑oriented environment.

You will conduct regular patrols, monitor access and CCTV as required, respond calmly to incidents, complete daily activity and incident reports, and collaborate with property management to uphold safety

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, parking areas, common areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with property procedures, directing individuals to appropriate locations and documenting relevant observations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate pertinent information during shift handoffs.

What You’ll Do:
