Job summary

Allied Universal in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Security Officer for full-time ingress management. You will monitor entry points, verify access, perform patrols, and provide customer service while maintaining a secure, mission-focused environment.

The role requires working a daytime shift schedule with multiple start times. A guard card/license and CPR/First Aid are preferred, with background checks and a drug screen as standard prerequisites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to identify unauthorized activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Complete required reports and communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Complete required reports, maintain accurate access-control documentation, and communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
