Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control in Maspeth, NY. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor areas, and respond to security concerns with professionalism at a government transportation location.

We value strong communication, reliable teamwork, and a customer-focused approach. A NY Security Guard License and at least one year of security experience are required, with background checks and drug screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or members of the public by carrying out access control procedures at a government transportation location.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized individuals in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site representatives and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances and checkpoints to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required records related to visitor activity, access control events, incidents, and daily operations.

What You'll Do
