Job summary

Allied Universal in Middle Village, NY is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time Access Governance) to protect government locations, manage entry points, and provide a welcoming, secure environment for visitors and personnel.

You will verify credentials, maintain logs, respond to incidents, and conduct patrols while delivering professional customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public at a government transportation location while following access-control procedures.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry records and manage access credentials.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and unauthorized entries with calm, professional problem-solving and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, public areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Tue: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Wed: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Thur: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Fri: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public at a government transportation location while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry records; issue and collect access credentials as directed by site procedures.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
