Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public at a government transportation location with access-control procedures.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying IDs, credentials, and visitor authorizations.
• Maintain visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry records and issue access credentials as directed.
• Respond calmly to access-control incidents and emergencies and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and public areas to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public at a government transportation location while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry records; issue and collect access credentials as directed by site procedures.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
