Allied Universal in San Diego, CA is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time financial corporate building. You will manage access, monitor entry points, and provide friendly customer service to employees and visitors while upholding site-specific policies and safety procedures.

The role requires at least one year of security experience, a HS diploma, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen. A guard card is preferred, and you must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles).

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor access materials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing activity at assigned access points and communicating unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including entrances, common areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
