Job Details

Provides maximum protection for the safety and security of university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors, and Jefferson assets. Performs security duties at fixed posts, on patrol, or during building and grounds rounds. Responds to calls for service, checks for unauthorized persons, security violations, and fire or safety hazards. Capable of being assigned to any fixed post or patrol duties in any environment and shift. Assists patients, visitors, and students by providing directions or information.

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson's values.
• Performs security patrols, verifies identities, and escorts unauthorized persons off campus as needed.
• Responds promptly to emergencies, reports conditions to supervisors, and may diffuse conflicts using conflict resolution skills.
• Investigates incidents, maintains patrol logs, and provides follow-up information as directed.
• Assists with campus safety, including security escorts and parking issues.
• Supports safety teams, assists with emergency landings, enforces no-smoking policies, and performs other related duties.

Job Description

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Security, police, military experience, or related criminal justice background.
• PA only: Valid ACT 235 Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license for certain locations.
• Ability to operate security technology and Microsoft applications.
• Flexible to work all shifts and rotate as needed.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and carry required security instruments.
