Job Details

Provides maximum protection for the safety and security of university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors, and Jefferson assets. Performs security duties at fixed posts, on patrol, or during rounds of buildings and grounds. Responds to calls for service, checks for unauthorized persons, general security violations, and fire or safety hazards. Capable of being assigned to any fixed post or patrol duties across various environments and shifts. Assists patients, visitors, and students by providing directions or information upon request.

* Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.

* Performs security patrols, verifies the appropriateness of persons on campus by checking IDs, and escorts unauthorized individuals off-site as necessary.

* Responds promptly to emergencies, reports conditions to supervisors, and may resolve conflicts during emergencies.

* Investigates incidents, documents reports, maintains patrol logs, and provides follow-up information as directed.

* Assists with campus security, including escorting individuals and managing parking issues.

* Supports safety teams, assists with helicopter landings, and enforces no-smoking policies.

* Performs additional security and safety duties, including inspecting deliveries and assisting in staff training.

Job Description

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security, police, or military experience preferred. Experience in campus/hospital security or law enforcement strongly preferred.
• PA only: Valid ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license required for certain locations.
• Understanding of responsibilities and technology of the 24-hour Security Response Center (SRC).
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Email).
• Ability to work all shifts and rotate as needed.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and carry required security instruments.
