Job summary

Allied Universal in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time Threat Assessment role. You will monitor and patrol a financial institution, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service while documenting observations and responding to concerns.

The position requires a guard card/license (preferred), and candidates must meet age requirements and pass a background check and drug screen as applicable. Pay is $21.00 per hour with night shifts across the week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen may be required prior to employment in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and alarm systems per site procedures and report anomalies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate concerns per site protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols and report maintenance issues or policy violations.
• Communicate clearly with clients and leadership while maintaining confidentiality.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and/or alarm systems in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual activity and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed by site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter, helping to identify and report potential security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and policy violations.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership while following confidentiality and information-handling requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
