Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for a full-time corporate high-rise building patrol in San Diego, CA. The role involves unarmed protection duties, assisting visitors and employees, and maintaining a secure environment at a government facility.

Position Type: Full Time. Pay Rate: $22.70 / Hour. Schedule includes Tue, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM. Prior security background and basic computer skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of security-related experience or more.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Ability to lift over 20 pounds (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public at a government facility while following site procedures and security policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, parking areas, grounds, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and according to procedures.
• Prepare clear reports, maintain logs, and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

• Tue: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public at a government facility while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, parking areas, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate observations and incidents to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
