Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer—Full Time Admission Control in Norfolk, VA. You will guard access points, verify credentials, and support site operations while delivering exceptional customer service in aerospace/defense environments.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, reporting discrepancies, patrolling facilities, and documenting incidents.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and report access discrepancies per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, solution-oriented manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, business facilities, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and irregular conditions accurately, and communicate relevant information to leadership and site representatives.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Tue: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Wed: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Thur: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
