Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Point Security in Portsmouth, VA to safeguard clients across industries including Aero/Defense. You will monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and conduct routine patrols to deter security incidents while delivering exceptional customer service.

Position is full-time with a daytime schedule and night shifts. CPR/First Aid and guard license are preferred; a high school diploma is required.

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Point Security in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Verify identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and access permissions before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Monitor access-control systems, alarms, cameras, and entry points; document irregularities and report access-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
