Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Unarmed Perimeter Patrol in Elwood, IL. You will monitor and patrol a manufacturing location, deterring incidents and providing exceptional customer service to employees and visitors.

The role requires at least a High School Diploma or equivalent, background checks, and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check, drug screen, and state/local licensing may apply.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by following site policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and according to protocol.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization, and maintain logs of activity.
• Support protection of inventory and property through visible patrol presence and reporting.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and support the protection of inventory, equipment, and property through visible patrol presence and prompt reporting.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
