Job summary

Securitas, Inc. in Peoria, IL is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our full-time team. You will patrol, monitor systems, control access, and respond to emergencies to maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors.

No prior experience is required; training is provided. The position pays $18.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within our security team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18+ and have a valid driver's license with clear driving record.
• Strong computer/technology skills.
• Excellent observation, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military is a plus; ability to work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment screening (drug test & background).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure environment protecting employees, customers, and visitors.

What Your Day May Look Like

• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.

• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
