Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced in Washington, DC. The role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $21.00 per hour, with minimum experience of 1 year in security. This position provides entry to opportunities toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours weekly if desired.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Criminal history considerations per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of guest areas, public spaces, service corridors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents and guest concerns calmly and follow established protocols.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management to maintain authorized access.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations and report to management.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, visitors, and staff while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a luxury hospitality location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of guest areas, public spaces, service corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures to help maintain authorized access throughout the location.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to hotel management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
