Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security services at an assigned site with flexible hours. The role offers fixed anchor shifts and additional pick-up shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $24.44 per hour. Candidates must be 21+ for armed roles or 18+ for unarmed roles, with a high school diploma and background checks in compliance with laws. Part-time schedule includes Wed and Sat evenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial office buildings, common areas, parking facilities, loading docks, and exterior perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor building access points and visitor activity, maintain required logs and reports, and communicate relevant observations to property management and Allied Universal leadership.
• Support a professional environment by providing directions, assisting occupants and visitors, and reporting maintenance, lighting, or other property-related concerns.

• Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
