Allied Universal in Washington, DC seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Environmental Observation to provide reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform. Pay rate is $24.44 per hour; candidates must be 21+ for armed roles or 18+ for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Environmental Observation in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.44 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or client representatives by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies at a commercial real estate location.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain appropriate access‑control procedures for the property.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.


• Document daily activities, patrol observations, incidents, and maintenance or security‑related concerns in required reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
