Qualifications

• One year of security-related experience required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and guests by following site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, medical situations, access concerns and other critical events calmly and escalate per protocol.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols across buildings, residences, parking and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards and policy violations.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation and shift communications per site requirements.

As a Security Officer Flex Part Time College Campus Patrol in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.30 - $21.30 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeSun04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests by carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical situations, access concerns, and other critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas, with working conditions varying by location.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
