Job summary

Allied Universal in Middletown, CT seeks an Experienced Unarmed Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, and staff at a healthcare location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while upholding Allied Universal’s caring culture. Position is Full Time with DayTime shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and vendors while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations per site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions to site leadership and management.
• Complete incident reports and communicate information to relevant stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vendor activity in accordance with site procedures; report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
