Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking an Experienced Patrol Detail Security Officer for a part-time role. You will monitor sites, perform routine patrols, control access, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents.

The schedule covers Thursday 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM and Saturday 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM; pay is $16.38 per hour. Minimum requirements include 6 months of security experience, a high school diploma, and background/drug screening.

Qualifications

• Six months of security-related experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required in accordance with laws.
• Drug screening as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and report concerns per post instructions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances and document daily activities and incidents in logs.
• Assist with emergency response and crowd management when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out site‑specific procedures and assigned access control activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and report security‑related concerns according to post instructions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas while documenting daily activities, observations, and/or incidents in required logs or reports.
• Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including assisting with directions, communications, and/or crowd management during unusual events.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
