Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Readiness in Houston, TX. You will provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.

This role offers fixed anchor shifts with a six‑month commitment and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to earn more.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted as part of the employment process.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required; driving positions need a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while carrying out security-related procedures at a government location.
• Respond to incidents and inquiries calmly and escalate as needed according to procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter spaces.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Complete activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications accurately and promptly.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Readiness in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.38 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat10:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vehicle activity in accordance with site requirements, reporting unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
