Job summary

Allied Universal in Salinas, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer for entry screening at a food and beverage location. You will monitor access, verify credentials, and provide friendly customer service to employees and visitors while maintaining a visible presence to deter security incidents.

Shift is Sat and Sun 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, pass background checks and drug screening, and may hold a Guard Card.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor and control access by verifying credentials and directing visitors.
• Respond calmly to alarms and incidents and escalate as needed.
• Conduct patrols of entry points and perimeter to identify security concerns.
• Document activities and handoffs in accordance with site reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production or distribution location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, screening visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized personnel, contractors, and delivery drivers in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, employee entrances, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Document daily activities, incidents, access concerns, and shift handoffs accurately and completely in accordance with site-specific reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
