Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol Access Assistance) in Suffolk, VA. You will protect clients across technology, media, and telecom locations, maintain a visible security presence, and support access control while delivering friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies at a technology‑focused location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and report observations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site requirements, reporting access‑related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner and follow established emergency response procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security‑related events.

You will engage with employees and visitors, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. What You’ll Do:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
