Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time patrol and access coordination in Sandston, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, and support access control and alarm response activities at a technology location.

You will provide outstanding customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors, document observations, and communicate with site leadership. The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and reliable, proactive security support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license if applying for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors at a technology location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, data infrastructure areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and restricted-area entry per site policies and report issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear, timely reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors at a technology and telecommunications location while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, data infrastructure areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and restricted-area entry in accordance with site policies; report access issues and unauthorized activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear, timely reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
