Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer in Mechanicsville, VA for a full-time unarmed patrol and facility monitoring role. You will safeguard government transportation facilities, provide excellent customer service, and maintain clear reporting of incidents and patrols.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and the public at a government transportation location by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, roadway-related concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, parking areas, vehicle access points, grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor/contractor authorization per site policies, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Observe and report hazards, suspicious activity, damaged property, and unusual conditions that could affect facility operations.

What You’ll Do:
