Job summary

Allied Universal in Bristol, VA is seeking a Security Officer Foot Patrol to safeguard clients across facilities and transportation locations. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, observe and report concerns, and provide professional customer service to employees and visitors.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will follow post orders, respond calmly to incidents, monitor entrances and exits, and assist with directing visitors and traffic during operations and events,

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public at a transportation agency by following site procedures and access-control protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, roads, and perimeters to identify hazards and report concerns.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, following post orders and notification procedures.
• Monitor entrances/exits and document observations in clear reports.
• Direct visitors and vehicle traffic during operations, construction, emergencies, and events.

You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, observe and report concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication to employees and visitors. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $14.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and members of the public at a transportation agency location by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, hazards, and unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, traffic‑related events, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and assigned areas; document observations, incidents, and daily activities in clear and accurate reports.
• Assist with directing visitors and vehicle traffic during routine operations, construction activity, emergencies, and special events as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
