Job summary

Allied Universal in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer for full-time unarmed patrol documentation at a retail location. You will monitor, deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to shoppers and staff, with daytime shifts and a fixed schedule.

You will conduct patrols, observe activities, and assist with access control while communicating clearly and professionally. A guard card and high school diploma are typical requirements; background checks and drug screening apply

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and other security-related support functions while maintaining a professional and customer-focused presence.
