Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Enhanced Security Officer in Reading, PA. This role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and includes opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including perimeters and loading areas.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time X Ray Image Review in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.99 / Hour

Security Experience:

• Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of relevant security experience prior to employment. This experience should be verifiable and relevant to the position for which the candidate is applying.

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 02:30 AM - 09:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or drivers while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Screen authorized personnel, visitors, packages, and/or property in accordance with location policies and access-control requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business perimeter and loading or distribution areas, as required by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
