Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time at our Northampton, PA site. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform, helping you increase earnings while gaining diverse site experience.

Qualified candidates will have access-control or badge-management experience, basic computer skills, and a background in customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 (21+ for armed roles).

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a logistics and distribution location, verify authorized access credentials, and maintain visitor, contractor, and delivery driver records.
• Screen incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, and shipments in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access and loss-related activity.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter; document observations and report security-related issues.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Management in Northampton, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 04:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)

• Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems or badge management.
• Familiarity with security protocols and procedures related to access control is preferred.
• Candidates may be required to provide documentation or references verifying their experience.

Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)

• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets for daily tasks.
• Familiarity with basic software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms) is essential.
• Candidates may be assessed through practical tests or interviews to evaluate their comfort level with technology.

Customer Service Experience (B219)

• Candidates should possess prior customer service experience, showcasing their ability to interact positively with clients and colleagues.
• Experience in handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing support is highly valued.
• References or examples of past customer service roles may be requested during the interview process.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
