Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Risk Assessment in Detroit, MI to provide reliable, consistent hours and opportunities to advance to full-time. You will have a fixed shift at an assigned site with a six-month commitment and may pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Risk Assessment in Detroit, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.35 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 06:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned hospital areas, including entrances, parking areas, corridors, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious conditions or policy violations, and assist with directing individuals to appropriate locations.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
