• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions in a healthcare setting.

• Monitor access points and visitor activity per facility procedures and restricted areas.
• Document observations and patrol activities accurately in line with site requirements.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Deterrence in Detroit, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.35 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon06:00 AM - 12:00 PMFri06:00 AM - 12:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other guests by following site‑specific policies, security‑related procedures, and applicable emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining awareness of restricted areas.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
