Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Observation to provide reliable, flexible coverage at an assigned site. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Observation in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.38 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific procedures and supporting a professional environment at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, employee, and contractor credentials in accordance with site‑specific policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and daily logs for security‑related observations and events.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
