Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol for a Transit Center in San Jose, CA. The role offers flexible, reliable hours with a fixed anchor shift and the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Responsibilities include customer service, incident response, routine patrols, access monitoring, and accurate reporting. This position starts at $22.83/hour with opportunities to scale up hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Guard card/license preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Age: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsabilités

• Provide customer service to riders, employees, and visitors by carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency responses.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations calmly and report observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings and surrounding perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior and maintenance concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrols, and other security observations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol for Transit Center in San Jose, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.83 / Hour

Job Schedule:

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to riders, employees, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to established procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for incidents, patrols, and other security‑related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
