Job summary

Allied Universal in San Jose, CA is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer - Transit Center Patrol to serve riders, visitors and staff at a busy transportation hub. You will patrol, maintain a visible presence, assist customers, and respond to incidents with professionalism and integrity.

This role offers flexible Day/Evening shifts, opportunities to learn our shift-claiming platform, and ongoing training. A Guard Card is preferred, CPR/First Aid is a plus, and you must meet eligibility

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• CPR/First Aid preferred.
• Background investigation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to riders, visitors, employees and contractors while following site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and coordinate with required personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of transit facilities to deter unauthorized activity.

You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to riders, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transportation facilities and surrounding areas.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, buildings, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, transportation personnel, and/or law enforcement as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
