Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for a Transit Center patrol in San Jose, CA. You will provide customer service, deter security incidents, and maintain a visible presence across transportation facilities.

The role offers flexible daytime and night shifts with a pay rate of $22.83 per hour. A Guard Card is preferred, and CPR/First Aid is encouraged. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to riders, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transportation facilities and surrounding areas.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, buildings, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, property damage, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and transportation personnel and/or law enforcement as appropriate.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
