Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common and exterior areas.
• Observe and report hazards, incidents, and policy violations to site contacts and leadership.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Maintain daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs per site requirements.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Driver Patrol in San Jose, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.00 / Hour

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 04:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, parking areas, exterior walkways, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, property damage, access concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs in accordance with site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
