Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or policy violations according to location procedures.
• Assist with directions, crowd management, and documenting patrol activities.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Driver in Hampton, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri06:30 PM - 11:30 PM Sat02:30 PM - 11:30 PM Sun02:30 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, location‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate store personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to location procedures.
• Support a welcoming retail environment by providing directions, assisting with crowd management, and documenting incidents and patrol activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
