Allied Universal in Houston, TX is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced (Unarmed). This role offers fixed anchor shifts with optional extra shifts via our scheduling platform, enabling income and flexibility. Pay rate is $15.00 per hour, with potential to reach full-time schedules up to 40 hours weekly.

Responsibilities include site security duties, access control, incident response, and clear incident documentation. You will perform regular unarmed patrols and monitor entrances.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.
• Background-eligible per laws for criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Ambassador in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue – 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM
• Wed – 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM
• Thur – 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (\"Anchor Shifts\"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry for personnel and visitors, and maintain accurate logs of arrivals, departures, and unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Observe and report conditions such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, lighting concerns, and/or unauthorized vehicles, completing clear and timely incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
