Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in San Jose, CA. The role offers flexible shifts, anchor shifts, and the opportunity to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $20.50 per hour. Responsibilities include guest safety, access monitoring, and incident response, with a path to full-time roles through earned experience and training.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to guest concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with hotel management and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hotel lobbies, guest-floor corridors, parking areas, entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property to help deter unauthorized access, disturbances, and other security-related concerns.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Customer Service in San Jose, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri03:00 PM - 11:30 PMSat03:00 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
