Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer to work the DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 03:00 PM shift at a Houston, Texas site. The role offers flexible scheduling, anchor shifts, and optional extra shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Responsibilities include customer service to tenants and staff, patrolling, monitoring access, and responding to incidents. A high school diploma and background check are required, with drug screening where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations for management and responders.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs per Allied Universal requirements.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, parking areas, loading zones, common areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to property management and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
