As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Access Coordination in SAN JOSE, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.60 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and/or site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the distribution facility, parking areas, trailer yards, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering or departing the location in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Observe loading, unloading, and delivery traffic activities and report security‑related concerns, damaged barriers, or other conditions to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
