Job summary

Allied Universal in Salinas, CA is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced (unarmed) to provide reliable security services at a designated site with anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

The role offers a pay rate of $18.90 per hour, a six-month anchor shift commitment, and flexible hours with the potential to grow into full-time work. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of food and beverage production areas, shipping and receiving locations, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access or unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
